About the Author
Bosun Xie received a Bachelor degree in physics in 1982 and a Master of Science degree in acoustics from South China University of Technology in 1987. In 1998, he received a Doctor of Science degree in acoustics from Tongji University. Since 1982, he has been working at the South China University of Technology and is currently the Director and a professor at the Acoustic Laboratory at the School of Science. Xie is also a member of The State Key Lab of Subtropical Building Science. His research interests include binaural hearing, spatial sound, acoustic signal processing, and room acoustics. He has published over 150 scientific papers and owns 5 patents in these fields. Professor Xie is a member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES), a vice-chairman of the China Audio Engineering Society, and a committee member of the Acoustical Society of China.

Wow! Smoking hot erotic scenes between Jennie and Mick throughout the story! I also loved the very hot, erotic scenes between Rachel and Geoffrey. This is a great erotic, romance story. Jennie is a hard-working, mature woman who gets set-up on a date with a friend of a friend who happens to be a movie star. She doesn't recognize him but thinks he is sexy and masterful and she can't wait to have sex with him. Mick is tired of women throwing themselves at him because he is a movie star and is thrilled to find a woman who wants him for just him. They have playful, passionate, and even tender sex as what starts as a one-night stand turns into love. If you want to read well-written erotic romance, then Kate Britton should be a must-read author for you.

One note - a previous reviewer mentioned grammatical errors in the version they read. This version has clearly been edited because there were no grammatical or stylistic errors in this story. :-)

Perplexed

What to say! I do not write many reviews, but in this case I felt I had to make an exception! Many grammatical mistakes which is not the author's fault. Huge chunks in the wrong spot. What really bothered me though was that the leading male character tells the leading female what to do, where to do it, & when do do it and she follows blindly along. Such things as giving up a job, an apartment. It's really unbelievable in today's world. I believe the author "Edwina" is really an "Ed". The sex scenes are graphic which is fine. However, I do think they are written from a man's point of view. In fact I think the whole story is written from a male perspective from possibly a non-industrialized country. The way the sentences were written and the thought processes of both the male and female characters were not what I would expect from anyone living in a country such as urban Australia, Canada or the United States for example. Just my opinion!

I must admit I have not read the third edition of this book,only the second. I anticipate any improvements the authors have considered adding will be worth the time to take in. Reading this book probably demands an appetite for knowledge as broad as Dr.Adey's, and it is clear from the references he offers that he could expand on all the information here without trouble.
But what is here! Even if the reader can never manage the resources to develop any of the systems described, the lessons taught amount to a new and comprehensive way to understand how the world biologically and physically works.As someone who had looked for this kind of information, and found it only in bits and pieces,it would be hard for me to overemphasize how valuable this piece of work is.
If you are just going about setting up your first aquarium this book will scare you with the science. The information really needs to find it's way into the hobby level through the experience and writing of others who may need to simplify the presentation. Also, the equipment that is necessary to achieve the results described here is simple, but not yet available "off the shelf" It's hard to know if it will ever be, even for those with more professional needs.The ideas are so basic, yet so radical compared to the way aquarium keeping has always been understood, that only the person who is excited by the vision of capturing a real ecological system will be interested for now.
I am a serious hobbyist with a science backround. This book, in any of it's editions, should be considered from here on as the definitive work on keeping an aquatic system healthy, whether it's in your home or outside your door.

While best known for describing the use of turf algae as a natural absorber of aquarium pollutants, the book 'Dynamic Aquaria' shines as a plea for the re-evaluation of how we appreciate aquarium systems and their micro-ecologies. Rather than the display of just a few select specimens, it proposes more emphasis on (and therefore replication of) the fascinating interactions between species and environment. It does a splendid job of discussing the difficulties in scaling down nature's beauty to fit an aquarium's limited volume.

This book explores aquarium systems as models of natural eco systems. Adey and Loveland's technique relies on algae scrubbers to reduce nitrate levels in the tank. By removing new growth of algae, one can avoid frequent water changes. The book includes extensive discussion of important aspects of marine eco systems, such as wave motion, light, and food chains, to name just a few.
The book is more about the science of building marine microcosms than a cookbook for building home marine aquariums.

I was nominated for an appointment to West Point during my junior year in high school but because of some heart changing decisions I made just before and during my senior year, I chose to go to Bible college instead. I have served the Lord as a laymen in the church all of my adult life and worked in the secular world, mostly in the construction industry as a contractor.

I have had a passion about the creation vs. evolution subject since my teens and have read and studied everything I’ve gotten in my possession, whether pro creation or pro evolution. I have listened diligently when the subject was being taught and have watched numerous evolution programs on educational and documentary television programs. Everything I read, heard or saw on the subject, caused me to do deeper studies.

When all is said and done and all hoaxes, errors, contradictions, and impossibilities are eliminated, what is still left standing and makes common sense, is creation!

I hope this book will give some Christians the ammunition to withstand Atheistic confrontations and that it may also win some nonbelievers over to understand that there really is a Creator God.

Excellent!

Ed Cross' book, "The Truth Please!" proved to be an excellent written work showing the theory of evolution is impossible and non-scientific. He does this with demonstrable and provable scientific facts and principles. He shows Scripture proof of the universe and its laws being created by God and Him alone. It was an excellent read.

About the Author
Maartje Abbenhuis is Senior Lecturer in Modern European History at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, where she has worked since 2003. She completed her PhD in History at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, in 2001. Her research interests lie in the history of neutrality and internationalism, especially in the period 1815 to 1918, the history of borderlands, and popular representations of Nazism. She has published widely on the history of the Netherlands in the First World War and co-edited two interdisciplinary collections, one on non-combatants and the other on Nazism in post-1945 popular culture. She was the recipient of two prestigious Royal Society of New Zealand Marsden Grants (one in 2004, the other in 2013) as well as a University of Auckland Early Career Excellence Award in 2008. The Faculty of Arts at the University of Auckland awarded her an Early Career Teaching Excellence Award in 2006 and a Sustained Excellence in Teaching Award in 2013. She is a member of several history associations including the Royal Dutch Historical Association, the New Zealand Historical Association and the Australasian Association of European Historians.
