remarkable man behind genius tennis

I liked learning about Rogers childhood history. The book really gave me a sense of his personality beyond what I have been able to gather from watching him on television.

I was shocked at the exponentially curved tax rate for him in Basel 96% ( even the rate in Zurich 68%).
Would love to learn if his Dubai address helps him out. Love all his charity/ foundation work. Outstanding leadership!

Chris Bowers gives an excellent account of Rogers rise to the top including a better sense of the many struggles to get there and stay there. Class act but human.

Looking forward to his personal autobiography where he can add further to what he thought and felt both on and off the court.

Excellent sports bio

This book is an excellent example of its type, i.e., sports biography. It is thorough and well-written -- much better written than many sports biographies The author tries to be objective, and notes less appealing aspects of Federer's history, but it is clear that he admires his subject. If you are a Federer fan, as I am, you will enjoy it immensely.

Liked the first half

Enjoyed the first half of the book detailing Fed's early life and transition to the pros. But the second half was too focused on individual tournaments and matches for too long.

Things I never knew about the Pilgrim Fathers

Like most people I thought that the Pilgrim Fathers arrived at Plymouth one day, sailed off on the Mayflower the next and (after a few vicissitudes) reached the New World where they established a colony. Right - but also very WRONG. If you want to know the true story behind their trials and tribulations then read this book and experience them with the main character William Bradford. Did you know, for example, that when they arrived, the colonists drew up a contract which they called the "Mayflower Compact" and each man took it in turn to sign? I didn't. I must admit that I am a bit of a history nut and so I enjoyed every authentic detail in the book. However, don't let that comment put you off, the author's research never overwhelms the reader. Once they reach the New World they have starvation, hostile native American (well, you would fight for your land, wouldn't you?)and other settlers to contend with. But their desire for religious freedom more than outweighs personal suffering and and disease. Other reviews have gone into the detail of the book more than I have here. I will just finish by saying that I really enjoyed this novel and at the end of it I understood why Mrs Tildman had chosen the title: ONE SMALL CANDLE. Read it and you will, too.

Captivating story of love and survival

We have all heard of the Pilgrims and studied their journey somewhat in school. Author Evelyn Tidman will take you up front into the lives of the early settlers tracing back to 1607. Their quest for religious freedom to worship and differences in their views from their Catholic counterparts, would set them on a journey in which Tidman brings out the realities in their fight for survival:
-difficult inclement weather abroad ships
-disease and deaths abroad ships
-deaths of mothers and infants during birth
-Godly leadership raised up

Learn of their steadfastness to worship God on the Sabbath, fast and pray, and how God would see them through often right on time. Their endurance and perseverance came with a great cost and leadership would often switch hands due to beliefs and deaths. When you reflect back, perhaps you too, like myself, will come to the understanding that it was more than raw strength and will that would colonize New England and later give birth to a great nation; rather, it was the invisible hand of God that directed wisdom in many ways.

Whatever your perspective is in regards to the Indians, Tidman's research will clarify the early encounters between the Pilgrims and Indians. This is not just a story of a new beginning but the realities of love that wouldn't die and deception that would prove costly.

I will not give it away but you must read this to learn the significance of this title One Small Candle. I recommend this book for teenagers and adults. The drama unfolded will capture your attention while strengthening your historical understanding.

One Small Candle - Lot's of Light

As I have gotten older all I want to read anymore is really well written, believable, historical fiction and it is hard to find. I have also become more interested in American history since researching my own ancestry. Reading Evelyn Tidman's book hit all the marks for me. I did not know what to expect as I got the book via Book Bub for a great price and that can be very hit or miss - One Small Candle was a hit. Tidman's writing style drew me in and made the history come alive. I found out much more than I expected to about what drove the pilgrims to leave their homes and what they encountered when they arrived in the New World. The description of their struggle, bravery, and ability to adapt was really fascinating. I highly recommend this book. a very good read and deserves a much wider audience.

The Abyssal Angels: Infernal Colopatiron Redux is an 83 pages paperback, printed by DB Publishing in 2011. This little booklet is a striped down version of S. Connolly’s previous book called The Infernal Colopatiron c 2011-2012 by S. Connolly, which was an Official Melissa Press fine binding: 220 copies Black Faux Leather standard edition 220 copies and Burgundy Bonded Leather Edition, limited to 30 copies - being now out of print and never to be reprinted again.

The Abyssal Angels: Infernal Colopatiron Redux is for Demonolators – The ones who practice Demonolatry, which is the worship of Demons, and/or practicing magick with the aid of entities Known as Demons. Demonolatry is a religion of the Self, which requires a lot of hard work on self-understanding and self-development and the search of Knowledge. Modern Demonolatry is a Pantheist or polytheist, depending how the reader sees the Demonic entities.

S. Connolly has been practicing magic since 1984. S. Connolly points out that The Abyssal Angels: Infernal Colopatiron Redux is meant for advanced magicians who can fill out the more basic information that is needed to fully use the book. The author gives examples of her personal work with Gate opening and Theophany (The manifestation/appearance of a god, a deity, a spirit, etc… in this case, through gate opening and summoning).

The Abyssal Angels: Infernal Colopatiron Redux mentioned that
Colopatiron, is the Genii – Deamon who rules over the 9th Hour of the Nuctemeron. In the Nuctemeron of Apollonius of Tyana, Nine is “The number that is not to be reveled”), and Colopatiron is the one who opens the Infernal Gates of the prison, he is in charge of the Liberation.
The author also includes a list of Nine Abyssal Gatekeepers or Abyssal Angels, from the 9th Gate, their Sigils and Enns (Invocations). “No one knows what language the Enns come from, they were deemed Demonic Enns in the late 16th Century (1585), by the Demonolator Alexander Willit.” S. Connolly.

There are many chapters telling about the Gate opening and that they can be used for other goals, such as energy manipulation, creating servitors, manifestation of ideas, management of emotions and personal Alchemical Transformation.

Strengths:
S. Connolly writing style is straight to the point, she does not make use of non-sense pompous metaphoric Language.
She shows care about her readers, highlighting the need of observing some steps and the dangers of not doing so such as gate closing after the Rituals. Or that it would be advisable to keep in mind that one should be mentally healthy and physically apt to perform magick.

I would like to see a list of Contents and an index.

Overall, it is an insightful little volume, written by a devoted Practitioner Magician, who through her dedicated work and diligent study has gathered Powerful and important information in this fascinating and important subject – Gate Opening.

It is in the hands of the reader, to decide what to do with the knowledge perceived through the pages of any book.

In a way, it is a complementary topic that can be used within the Left hand Path, and for the ones who are not afraid of facing their fears and looking into the depths of the Abyss.

Walking in Freedom

Forgiveness not Bitterness

I just started to read this book today and find I cannot put it down. I had the honor of having Tracey perform my wedding vows and I know what an impact she has had on my wife and myself therefore impacting my marriage in a positive way. Tracey brings year of Pastoral Counseling experience to this book as well as the transparency of her own struggles. I have found in my work in Pastoral Counseling as well as Professional Counseling that many people are "stuck" because they have not had the tools to move past pain in their lives. A cleansing stream for the heart!

I have had the pleasure of working on a pastoral team with Tracey Bickle over the past nine years. She is a tireless advocate for the hurting and the broken. Everyone has in some way been injured in life. Disappointment and injustice are common experiences we all must process and overcome. To do so, we need encouragement and hope. "Chaos Beneath the Shade" is an incredible tool. It's long enough (122 pgs) to be very thorough, but not overwhelming to digest. The thread of Tracey's personal story throughout the book, adds a depth of understanding and clarity that we all need to navigate our seasons of restoration.

Betsy Pake is a Precision Nutrition L1 Certified coach, the creator of The Nutrition Ninja program and works with clients all over the country to look and perform how they want.

Betsy has competed in bodybuilding competitions, ran a marathon and began competing as an adult in Olympic Lifting Competitions, winning a bronze medal at the 2015 Pan American Masters. She's used the techniques found in this book over the years to obtain the body and have the performance that she wanted.

 She resides outside Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and daughter.

Good read for a lifestyle change

Very easy read on flexible dieting. Makes you understand the material and there is no shaming. Sometimes with lifestyle books you can feel guilty reading them as it points out the many wrongs you do, but this is a book that simply states it's purpose and shows it wants to help you.

Definitely a great read and will help understand how you can better your body as a lifestyle and not a temporary change

A brilliant book I wish I had months ago

Finally, it all makes sense! As a chef and clean eater, I could never understand why it was such a struggle keeping the extra weight off. The author does a fantastic job at explaining flexible dieting and the importance of adjusting macros to find what works for your body. The book is detailed in explanations yet easy to read and follow, with a delightful tone. A must have book for the New Year.

A simple easy to follow way to live. There are no difficult scientific explanations but at the same time Betsy manages to lay out the how's and why's in a way we can ALL understand and apply. It's a "it's not rocket science" kinda book written in a friendly voice that will appeal to anyone interested in figuring out the whole food/weight thing.

Je suis grecque mais j ai etudie la langue et la litterature francaise dans mes jours scolaires plus de 45 ans auparavant. En lisant les oeuvres de Francoise Bourdon je peux pour une fois encore mieux connaitre les gens du peuple, leur travail avec la terre de France leur desir pour mieux s instruire et leur grand desire pour la liberte de l homme et sa volonte de mieux faire pour les generations qui viendrons apres lui.
