I'd hoped for more

An invisible white rabbit moving between apartments, watching lives unfold, and tapping into their dreams in order to feed the god living in the basement -- it sounds fascinating. But the characters aren't particularly rich (and that ends up being part of the point), the art is amateur and makes it difficult to tell characters apart, and the ultimate message ends up being nothing more than the depressing and tiring sentiment that life sucks, people suck, and we'll never measure up to the happy ideal that quite literally haunts the building that is the focus of this book.
Wanted to love it and just couldn't.

Tragic and surreal

A beautifully sad graphic novel, using surreal exposition to highlight the fates of the characters. Expresses some universal humanity without being cliche.
