Nice looking book but...

FYI- The book does not include the solutions to the exercises. If you want to study on your own, the solution book can be purchased on the geotol website for another $35.00.

The best Y14.5-2009 GD&T book I know of...

It starts out explaining very basic GD&T concepts and transitions nicely into advanced concepts. The trend in industry towards adopting profile tolerancing is rather apparent, but it might have been emphasized even a little more, in my opinion. There were a few illustrations that could probably be improved slightly for the next edition. But I can say without hesitation that this is the best book covering ASME Y14.5-2009 that I am aware of. If you have read this book and think you can recommend a better one covering this Standard, please add your review and recommendation.

Beware of "short" version!

Caution, there seem to be short versions with only six chapters (paperback) -- most likely in the used section only (?). I didn't realize that it wasn't the full book until I ordered another one ($90 directly from GeoTol.com). The real thing is a spiral bound with 17 chapters. I'd make sure to verify which version you're buying on Amazon. Also in light of the extremely high prices for new books which are multiples of the official price directly from the authors. Anyway, as for the content: I am not a student anymore and have not been for many years. An abbreviated version won't do for me and I would rate the short version useful but not recommended for being significantly shorter than the original (same ISBN).
Taking the full version, the color graphics and the teaching style make it easy to understand important relationships at the time the reader needs it. I fully recommend the full version albeit not for the $200+ listed here. For a more reasonable price and the certainty to get the full text book I strongly suggest Amazon revisit this listing and until then to head to the author's website.
