Fascism as Viewed Through Urban Planning

This book is not about fascist monumentalism in architecture (think Albert Speer) but instead explores the idea of how urban settings are shaped by fascism as part of the ideological thrust of each regime. The essays cover urbanism under different forms of fascism as a display of the regimes' power--and often promise to its peoples--to improve the future through urban planning. There are plenty of photos throughout to illustrate urban planning and sometimes individual buildings. A welcome addition to a scholarly library on architecture, urban planning, or the history of fascism.
