Too short

The book is too short to be much value. It does get you started, but not much more. The wrapping of the lines of code in the examples makes it harder to follow.

Overly simplistic Python overview

I read this book in a half hour. The title is partially accurate in that you will learn a bit of Python in a day, but the "Power" part rings false. This is a very superficial Python overview that covers variables, input and print statements, if statements and describes a few functions. That's it. There are several grammatical errors that are inexcusable in a book this short. I chose this book because of the excellent Amazon feedback. All of those 5-star reviews must have come from relatives and friends. One review mentions that you will learn how to code an "andriod app and much more." (SIC). False. The biggest lesson I learned here was to put less faith in Amazon reviews...

this book is pretty good. It introduces not only the language, but many areas of practical application in the style of a cookbook. In many cases, when you do not get an advice or example of python use to solve your problem, you get at least a pointer where to look for the solution elsewhere, in this case, this book is your pointer. The ecosystem of python language is very wide and a bit complex and has many applications in many areas. I like how this book jumps right into getting you writing code. Too many books bore me into skipping the first few chapter and seems to succeed at providing you with both introduction to the language itself, and how to use it to solve problems.
